Rank: Member Groups: Registered Joined: 9/12/2010(UTC) Posts: 1		Greetings, Both my wife and my gas dryer make a squealing sound when it runs. She is very sensitive to sound. If I can fix the dryer, I think that'll take care of the other source. :) Is there a type of tensioner that adjusts belt tightness? Or what causes it to squeal? Everything else runs perfectly. Rank: Advanced Member Groups: Senior Expert Joined: 3/29/2009(UTC) Posts: 11,699		I cannot get your model number to come up, but if it is a basic Whirlpool built Kit Aid then changing out the belt, roller supports and tensioner should fix things.
