Side by Side. freezer and refrigerator sides stopped coolong. Entered your forum and reveiwed post to get to where I am. I took off back panel that has grate for fan cooling. The grate along with the grate surrounding the fan motor was severly clogged with dust. I vacummed and cleaned and while cover was off plugged in unit. Fan starts immediately. After 20 seconds or so compressor attempts to run. I hear a click and the compressor runs for about 8 seconds and then another click and it turns off. This repeats about every 70 seconds or so. Is the compressor history? How expensive to replace if so and can an average guy do it or is it best left to pros? Thanks, Gary

That sounds like the start device is out, unplug the unit and look up the tread for testing refrigerators, cheap fix! If it turns out to be the compressor you will have to have a EPA certified tech repair it if you so choose. Depending on where you are located probably around a $500+ repair. Nat
