My Kenmore Elite dryer display panel would turn on by itself. I would press off, and it would. Then a few minutes later the display would light up again as if it had been activated and display drying time, the dryer did not start. I would press off and it would. Later on the same day the dryer began to display an error code E1. After researching the error code, open thermistor, the dryer is now completely non-responsive. Will a bad Thermistor casue the dryer to become non-responsive, or is there other problems lurking?
