 I have an Amana Refrigerator model number atb1915hrw - I too am having the problem with the freezer iceing over and that stops the airflow to the fridge, I have "defrosted" the freezer by taking the inside panel off and and letting a fan cool/melt the ice, reassembled and it was fine for about a week now I am starting to see the ice building on the vents again so it will only be a short while befor the fridge won't be getting airflow, I am attatching an image of how the freezer looked inside last time and will look again soon

But a good guess would be, you have a failed defrost system, based on your written description. The defrost system is composed of : 1) Defrost timer (located in the control panel assembly). Part number: AP4084056
2) Defrost heater (located behind the back wall of the freezer compartment, attached to the evaporator). Part number: AP4070730
3) Defrost thermostat (attached to the top of the evaporator). Part number: AP4070255
4) Wiring harness (not repairable). If any one of these components fail, you will have frost and ice build up on the back wall of the freezer compartment. If you'd like, you could try to send your picture again. Do you have access to a multi meter, so you can check circuits and voltages to, through the components so we can pin down the part(s) you need ? :) :) :)

It was our pleasure to help you out. Glad to hear you're refrigerator is up and running. We would've liked to known which components failed, But either way, we know that you'll be fine for a while. Thanks Again,
