Recently I washed a load of new towels and shortly afterwards the washer would not drain. I took the pump apart and found it was clogged with lent from the towels. I removed the lent and the pump normally.

Shortly after that I noticed the agitator was not working through the wash cycle. Everything else seems to work fine.

Could the lent have affected the agitator?

What else could be the problem?

How is the agitator removed?

Wrap a rope around the bottom of the agitator and yank out the agitator.Check the plastic coupler for busted pieces. If ok you may have a bad belt.
