My Kenmore Calypso washer leaves black marks on the clothes whenever I wash in cold water. Warm & Hot water is no problem. Service guy said I need a new U-Joint assembly & Wash Plate. Does this sound like the solution or should I try something else?

If its under a year is it still covered by warranty? I would check. I can give you the info on the part but I do not have any other info on this complaint. But if the oil seal went out it could cause oil to come out.
