i mis-wired my dryer and plugged it in the wall, well as expected it sparked and popped main CB. it did not trip the CB for the dryer it self. i since re-wired the dryer to correct configuration and plugged it in. it heats and spins like advertised. the concern i have now is whether or not i have to worry about the dryer burning up later down the road due to the mis wiring.

If a four wire pigtail, you probably just shorted power wire to ground, not effecting the dryer at all. If you put 230 volts where 115 should be, the dryer would not run.
