GE Profile Refrigerator Model tcs189adbrbs
freezer on bottom.

Refrigerator not cooling enough, just a little bit.

Five days ago I noticed the refrigerator not cooling sufficiently.
I kept turning up the cold dial. didn't work.

I pulled the fridge away from wall. was close to wall. Noticed black dust or marks or soot on wall. wiped away.

i turned the fridge off 24 hours. plugged back in. still not cooling. freezer worked fine, but not that's not working either.

i heard the circuit board go bad. however, i think there wasn't enough ventilation room.

what do you think is wrong?

the compressor is still under warranty, cuz it's ten years warranty. the ten year anniversary is coming up.

please advise. thanks, dana

Hi Dana,

Did you clean the condenser (#124 on the diagram)?

Wait about 24 hours after cleaning. Make sure the fan next to the compressor is working and measure the temperature in both compartments. Post the results.

Remove the rear cover and the front bottom grill. The condenser is under the refrigerator with a partial access from the front and back. Clean the coils using a vacuum cleaner and a special brush.
