I have a Frididaire washer that is about 5-6 years old, and it is not switching cycles. Once I set the timer and pull, the washer begins to fill with water, and once the water level is high, it starts draining and will not catch the next cycle.

Most likely the problem is a bad timer. - The part number for the timer is AP2107743 Here are the break down diagrams for the Frigidaire washer Model GLWS1649AS0Gene.
