The door is supposed to display the temp. in the freezer side and the refrig. side but now is flashing an alternating "98" "88" and the number to the right of it is a mirror image of the other number alternating between an "88" and "8" and "backwards 9". None of the 5 buttons affect the display anymore. Also the evap in the fridge side is freezing up. Is it more likely to be low on charge or have a problem with the defroster? Could these problems be related?

Is there a way to easily test the heater coil that is supposed to defrost the evaporator?

I believe I just fixed it! The wire to the temp sensor is cut for some reason. I repaired the wire and now the screen display works! So I bet that'll fix the freezing evap problem!

I'm so happy!

Now I'm faced with a new problem. I just put everything back together and the compressor never kicks on. I've tried messing with the settings but had no luck. The display shows the fans running but the aren't actually running. Please help!

I led the fridge unplugged over night and today I plugged it in an it's working fine. I afraid the evap may still freeze up but the display is working. Anyone know why this is working now and wasn't last night?? I plan to check it again after work in about 5 more hours
