Our dryer has suddenly developed a loud squeaking sound that will not quit. It dries the clothes fine and there is no vibration. How do I get to the drum and what parts would you recommend. It sounds like some WD-40 would take care of it. Any help would be appreciated.

No on the WD40. Take the front off, there will be 2 phillips head screws on the bottom of the front panel. Then take the wires off the door switch. Then the vent housing needs to come off. There are two 5/16s screws on the right side and 2 on the left side. Once removed the vent housing will pull off. Then go behind the dryer, and take off the small access panel, and remove the belt. Notice how it comes off. Then go back to the front and remove the drum. If you need more room to work the top comes up. There is a 3/8s screw on the bottom side of the front on the left and the right side. Once removed, lift the top up. The parts you would need to replace to insure that you could for another 7 to 10 years are as follows. 2 drums, 1 idler pully wheel, and 1 belt. Parts are resonably cheap. Since you are in there, it is best to do it all. It is a great dryer, and you can do it. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts
