the existing diagrams do not address replacing the springs on my dishwasher. Do I pull the unit out and open the door or are they in the frame. The door is heavy and opens FAST. Please Help!! This is a Frigidaire FDB636GFS2. Thanks so much!

All you need to do is pull the washer out from the cabinet about a foot, and you will see the springs attached to the frame and the door hinge. They are not hidden, Pretty easy fix.

I have got nearly the exact same dishwasher, and have the same problem, door opens fast and is heavy. Seems the springs have broken. I can see where I can order the exact springs I need online. The thread is helpful in general, but I'm not sure exactly how to pull the dishwasher away from the cabinet, I don't want to break anything.

Also, if the springs have broken, will it be obvious where I should re attach the new ones?
