I purchased this slide in Maytag oven brand new in 2002. It has been very reliable up to this point. I don't believe this model has error codes, never seen any codes displayed. At times, the oven will work perfectly, no problems. Lately, the oven temperature will not go any higher than 250*on bake or Convection bake. On broil it will do fine, gas and all. The electric heating elements come on with the bake and conv. bake, but not the gas! The ignitors will not glow, and thus not allow the control unit to cycle and open the gas valve. That's the way the baking would normally operate prior to this problem. I have replaced the temp. sensor, and both ignitors. Problem still continues. I am ready now to replace the control / clock / touchpad unit. Good Idea? Any other suggestions? Thanks, tommyboytommyboy84 attached the following image(s):

Locate the red wire to the Bake igniter and check if there is 120VAC between this wire and ground while the control calls for Bake. If there is no 120VAC then the problem is a bad control board aka clock. If there is 120VAC then check the gas safety valve for continuity across the terminals where the red and white wires connected. If it's open then replace the gas valve. - The part number for the dual gas valve is AP4098213 In order to provide the right part number for the clock I need the color of the overlay. Gene.

Hey Gene, Thanks very much for your advise! I was able to make the repair with your help. It was the clock, and I ordered it right from this website and replaced it. It is the black overlay clock on S.S. just as pictured. Our oven is working like new. Thanks to you!

I'm glad you were able to fix it.
