Great Thanks - can the unit be run with the board loose to see if the soldering took? Since the Frig is warm should the compressor start immediately?

Great - Thanks. Soldering is done - can the frig be run with the board out but connected to see if we've had success? Will the compressor start immediately since the fridge is warm?

I had my GE Profile PSS26NGPAWW fridge cut out (fans all blowing but compressor not making cold) about three weeks ago. Cleaned all the dust etc. from the back and let it manually defrost although there was no ice buildup near the evaporator. Fired back up and ran fine. Last night it did the same thing again although this time after a lengthy manual defrost, it didn't come back on. Found this thread and verified the circuit board was burned under the compressor relay. Re-soldered it and it is back up and running. Thanks abadfish66! :) Now, the question is why did it burn there in the first place and will it happen again?
