This is a slide in glass top stove. One day my wife went to turn on the warmer burner and she heard a loud pop. Then the entire electronics went dead. So there is no display for the clock or to use the oven. However the stove top burners still work. So there is power going to the stove.

A repair man came and he said that the circuit board is dead and needs replacing.

  • Does this sound like a logical conclusion to come to since he did not even open any part of the stove to check?
  • Is it posibble that there is a fuse of some sort that could be blown that prevents power going to the circuit board? If so where can I find it?
  • If the circuit board does need replacing can someone give me some detail instructions on how to remove the coverings? Also if there are any "gotchas" that I should look out for.[/LIST]Thanks very much for any help you can offer.

    I cannot believe that nobody has any suggestions for my problem.

    You can find a lot of useful instructions in the Service manual.

    - The part number for the EOC (aka clock) is AP3563513
