I just purchased a lid switch item # Part number: AP3180933
Part number: AP3180933
, and am not sure how to replace it. Any recommendations?

You have to remove the case of the washer. This is not very hard, first access the control panel and remove two clips then the case will come right off. This page has pictures and a video on how this is done. Whirlpool Washer Disassembly Guide
