I have a similar problem as Captain Fever. I can clear the setting and start my dishwasher but about 30 seconds into the cycle the unit stops. The high temp scrub button and the air dry button begin to blink. I have read through my manual but there isn't any information regarding this matter. I pluged and unplugged the unit but no change. Please share any advise.

I cannot find any tech info on this unit. The 587 does tell us that it is a Frigidaire. I looked up the control board number and then cross referenced this on AppliancePartsPros to come up with a Frigidaire model number. Here is the tech sheet to one of those units. It may be close to yours when it comes to the control functions. Here is that tech sheet http://manuals.frigidaire.com/prodinfo_pdf/Kinston/154444501.pdfLooks like the error may be a power failure. I am not sure how the board actually monitors the power. The only thing I can see that comes on at 30 seconds is the water valve. Perhaps try disconnecting it and see if the unit will get past the stop point. Check the door switches to make sure they close properly. Could be one of them is just closing and the vibration opens it giving a power failure error. Check that the wire nuts (If used) connecting power to the unit are OK. I would remove power from the unit and disconnect/reconnect them. Look for a loose connection in the wiring from under the unit to the control board. Since it looks like this may be a fairly common problem hopefully someone else will jump in with better ideas. |

Looks like you were right on target. Once I disconnected the power I was able to get the dishwasher to run beyond the original failure point. Thirty minutes into the cycle the same problem continued. Your advice was related to the control board which seems more then I could handle. :confused: I had to call in a repair guy who said my circuit board was shot...$300 later. If my home warranty hadnt picked up the bill I might have gone out a purchased a new unit, considering mine was at least 8+ years old. Thanks for your reply and pointing me in the right direction!
