Side by Side GE refrigerator. GSL25JFPEBS

I notice that the Freezer area seems to be working (maybe not as cool as normal though) but as I check the vent where air should enter the fridge portion there is no air flowing (at all). I took off the cover to the vent and noticed that the vent is in the "open" position.

I can feel air blowing in the freezer side.

What could be my problem?

Pull your freezer back panel and check the defrost heater, probably open, AP3183311. If ok, post back results.

If the back panel has frost on it, check the heater as Richappy said. If the heater is good, it will most likely be the motherboard. If you pull the refrigerator out, the motherboard will be behind a small panel. Tom ApplianceEducator.com

Yup, I pulled the panel off of the defrost heater and it was completely covered in an inch of ice. Ice melted the ice with a hair dryer and the fridge is cooling again, but I'm not sure what the main problem is.

You have to pull the heater and ohm it out. If you get an ohm reading it is good. Then replace the mother board. If no reading replace the heaters. That is the story. Tom ApplianceEducator.com - Parts

I would also check the defrost thermostat (Item240 in Section 3),
I think it should be 0 ohms when frozen.

Also a good idea to check the thermistor (Item 243 in Section 3).
Degrees F - Resistance
-4 - 48,400 ohms
+32 - 16,300 ohms
+68 - 6,200 ohms
