Amana, bottom freezer model refrigerator was working GREAT, suddenly quit cooling. Every few minutes makes click, buzzing for a few seconds, click. Fan runs all the time, compressor not coming on as near as I can tell. All other appears normal, lights, digital settings. I measured ohms from the three pins on the compressor to each other:
top to left bottom, 43 ohms
top to bottom right, 34 ohms
bottom left to right, 76 ohms
no pin measures to chassis ground
These measurements are when cold, unplugged for a while.
the parts that plug into the compressor, where the buzzing comes from (I think), do not rattle or anything if you shake them
When I first checked as it was running before shutting it down, all the tubes coming from the compressor seemed about the same temperature.
What else can I check to know what is wrong? To know how or if to fix? We just bought this and used it for two weeks. it was 5 1/2 years old.

Did you get a solution for this? Mine is doing exactly the same thing. I replaced the relay and still doesn't work.

We put in a relay and capacitor. They came together for about $30. easy to put in. attached to compressor. It worked well for a few weeks and then did it again. I thought maybe because we had let it run for a while when it didn't work it may have done some damage to the compressor, but it may be we just got a defective part. We are currently using another refrigerator, but hoping to get it fixed again. I would try it if I were you.
