I'm replacing a Whirlpool (model #ED5PHE) water valve for the ice maker with a part number of #2188746. Every site I go to shows a new replacement part that looks similar but has a piece off the mounting bracket that I do not have. Can someone tell me where I can get a part to replace the one I have and if different, the part number.

Thanks,
J

The model number you posted is incomplete, so I'm not able to verify the part number for the water valve. Verify and repost the model number please.

Thanks Gene,

From the bracket from which the sylinoid valves are attached it says model #X74 QC1. Again the part number is 2188746. The model number of the refrigerator is ED5PHEXNQ00.

Thanks,
J

Whirlpool has redesigned the water inlet valve for this refrigerator and the old valve is no longer available.

The new mounting bracket would work the same way. You will see it only when you will have it in your hands.

- The water inlet valve Part number: AP3160649
Part number: AP3160649
