I see the AP3778046 online....
I see the front connect using tabs on the front side.
But its unclear on how to remove and install the back side attached to the drum. Is there a service guide online that shows or explains this? I looked at the service guide 16010061 pdf which was not much help. As the guide not not include section 7.X which references the boot.
Thanks

There's not a website, that I can give out anyway, that gives detailed descriptions of the process. I will see if I can copy from a tech sitge for you though. Nat

I'm not finding a detailed instruction for replacing the boot for your the pdf file you mentioned is the closest I see. It's been to long since we've done one of those I can't remember exactly how to tell you without looking at one. Nat

Is that boot the only part that needs to be replaced? Do you know if it slides or snaps in and out of the drum? Does that part of the drum that the boot is connect to, does it need to be removed from the drum?

If at all possilble try not to remove anymore parts than nessessary, don't want to have additional leaks. From memory there are clips built into the boot that lock into place. and it has to be lined up exactly or it won't work correctly. If you look on the door panel page there is a wire ring with a spring that hold the boot in front, again I'm going from memory. And Maytag installed some of them differently at the factory. If in doubt have a local tech install it for you. I'm afarid I haven't been a lot of help on your washer. Been too long since we've had to work on one of these. Looking up parts is the easy part. Nat
