oh one other thing. If the fan works is it then possible it's overheating because I'm not putting the vent fan on. When should the vent fan be used and what is it for?

Sorry, one last thing. If the fan works is it possible that it's overheating because I am not putting the vent fan on? when are you suppose to use the vent fan and what is it for?

The vent fan has nothing to do with your problem. You use the vent fan when you are cooking on the stove to exhaust the steam from your cooking. I guarantee you, you need a new fan blade. When you get home, you will see exactly what I'm talking about. This fan must run or you will overheat the magnetron and kill the power to the unit until the magnetron has cooled down. Trust me on this. And you do not need to replace your magnetron.

I checked it over the weekend. You were right it was the fan blade. It was totally off thats why no more noise. My concern now is if I order the new part that the same thing will happen. They should put a screw in center of fan blad to hold the blade on to motor spindel. On the new part is there any kind of fastner that comes with it. In the meantime I've put on a twist from a loaf a bread the one thats used to close the bread in plastic and have reattached. Seems to be working now fine. It gave it that extra bit of tightness it needed.I put if through the fan balde hole and then wrapped it just as you would on the loaf of bread package :)

The new fan blade does not come with a fastener, but is designed to put pressure on the shaft to keep this from happening.

so is there a special insert in the center of the blade made out of metal that does this or is the hole just made tighter? or how is the construction different than the original? Thanks. Do you have a pic I can view?

I don't have a pic, there is no metal part with the new blde, but it is designed different than the old one to keep pressure on the blade to keep it from slipping.
