The replacement water valve on ice maker has a John Guest fitting? Not like the old female thread on fitting. How do I make this new connection and make it leak proof?

The new valve has push to connect fittings, cut the old water lines below the nut, and push the lines in to the new valve. You will feel it lock in place when you push in, and it's leak proof.

I replaced a water valve assembly on a GE rerigerator because valve leaked water when the water dispenser was depressed. Now when the water dispenser is depressed there is a loud noise, I have water leaking inside from the ice maker. Did I reverse the water lines when I connected them to the valve assembly. If that is the problem how can I correct with these types of fittings without trashing the $60 valve?

To release the hoses from the valve, simply push the white ring in while pulling the water line out.

GE TFX26GR water dispenser is dripping. I had to shut off supply line to stop drip. I was told the water valve (WR57X10051) needs to be replaced. Where is water valve located in the refrigerator?
