My Maytag Mav6000awq has been leaking from the bottom for a couple days, today it's even worse. I paid $75. to have a guy come over to tell me the tub seals need to be replaced. He said the part would cost $84.95 plus labor for a grand total of $329.00. I was floored! For that much money I could buy a new machine. But, I love my Maytag. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sometimes you need to make a decision to buy new or replace if you really love the machine. If you could do it yourself you would save some money, but that all depends on your ability. These days you should be able to get 7 years out of a washer, and if you did and did not have to pay for service during those years, then you are doing good. So, I'm not sure what your asking, but my 2 cents would be to buy a new machine unless you think you can fix it.

The guy said the seals needed to be replaced on the tub. I found the seals top and bottom for less then $20. Going to find out in a bit how handy I can be. Thanks
