Washer does not spin fast enough to remove all of water and clothes are too wet at end of cycles. Have looked at motor LED light flashes 9 times, indicating "Brake Resistor Open - Replace motor (brake)". Where can I find this resistor to test it? If I test resistor what is it's normal value? Where is brake can I test it? Are they inside the motor meaning buy a new motor? Desire to confirm this prior to buying a new motor.

The way to test this is to clear the code and if the code comes back replace the motor. The resistor is on the on the inverter board that is on the motor. The inverter is part of the board and cannot be serviced. The motor is the brake meaning that it doesn’t really have brakes the motor just stops itself electrically.

They don’t tell us how to check the resistor because it is no need because you have the codes. I am not a fan of self-diagnostics but the fact is that the motor is the part that “decides” to put the code up. So even if the resistor isn’t bad the motor “thinks” it is bad so it may keep throwing up the code. All this means is that it doesn’t matter if the resistor is actually bad or not if the problem persists the motor is the problem.

To clear the code unplug the washer for more than 15 seconds then open and close the lid at least 5 times within 12 seconds in the first 30 of reconnecting the power.

My apologies for this reply being posted so late, vacations, lost passwords etc. As instructed the washer was unplugged, replugged, and lid lifted. 2 weeks later some laundry was done and the washer motor performed fine, clothes were dry as high speed on spin cycle was achieved. My niece did joke about this method of repair, thinking if it didn't work she would try again but would also stand on one leg and pat her head too! LOL!! Thanks again for the great advice!!!
