The Electric Whirlpool Dryer Does Dry Well But Dryer Has To Be Shut Off Manually. Timer Does Not Move No Matter What Cycle? Are There Any Other Reason This Could Be Happeningbesides A Timer Needing Replaced ?

Its a resistor and I seem to remember running into this problem a long time ago where the resistor burnt out and stopped the timer. Its worth a check. That and make sure the timer motor is getting voltage. If its getting voltage, but not turning, the timer motor windings are burnt out. Resistor Part number: AP3094277

Are There Any Other Reason This Could Be Happening Besides A Timer Needing Replaced ? Besides the timer being the possible problem You might check the resister that could be the problem. Besides the resister coupled in the wiring on some models, this resister may be on a Thermal heat switch on other models. It's made into the Thermal switch and the only one that has 4 wires that connect to it. IT will show full continuity across the long ends and about 5400 to 8600 ohms on the fuse part which is the middle section side to side.(the one with the wires connectors close together in the middle) If this is bad you get the constant run-on in cool down modes on timer. IF these readings are good You need a new Timer. Check with all wires disconnected from this switch.Jds.
