Hello Forum,
I have a ceramic (CERAN) cooktop panel that has become removed from the surrounding panel. It appears to heve been embedded in a "silicon" type compound which kept it anchored in place and also fitted it to the elements. I assume the "silicon" bead was also to assist with the swell shrink of the cooktop components whe the cooktop is in use.

Is it possible for me to refit (reseat) the ceramic panel, and if so how to I do it and what materials do I require?

Apart from the above the cooktop works very well.

I offer my thanks for any assistance you can provide to me.

Regards - Twodoh

I do not think it is possible to fix it due to high temperature and special technology. It has to be replaced.

Hello Gene,
thanks for your reply. I have talked with F and P (in Australia) and the replacement parts are disproportionally very expensive. I do accept that i will need to replace the cooktop and surround but is there any temporary solution that might tide me over for a few months? Regards - Terry

Hi Terry,

Unfortunately I do not know anything you can use in such situation.
