Icemaker freezes, ejects and dispenses ice correctly, when I restrict water flow into the unit. However, if I let the icemaker run completely on its own, water continues to flow at a slow pace through the inlet valve, and into the icemaker, overfilling the icemaker, and flowing into the ice bin.
The water dispensing side of the valve, for drinking water, works fine.
What is the fix for this problem? A new dual water inlet kit?
Thanks in advance for the tip.

Thanks in advance for the tip. You are most likely correct, the icemaker side of the valve assembly has failed. But, a quick test would be to raise the bail arm on the icemaker(turns off unit)and turn the water supply back on: If water still fills icemaker, indicates bad fill valve(most likely). If water stops filling icemaker, indicates malfunction in ice maker control head(least likeliest). I'm sure you'll be able to handle it from there.
