i have a GE over-the-counter microwave oven that just stopped heating.

when press start, i can hear a relay click, countdown timer works, light is on but the turn table doesn't spin and no heating

i removed the top grill and checked the fuse and it was ok.
from what i gathered, it could be one of the door switches.

how can i test the door switches? is it possible to do so without unmounting the microwave? this is such a heavy item.

thanks!

okay. i'll answer my own question.

yes, you can access the switches without unmounting the microwave.
remove the grill (2 screws), remove the screw that holds the controller and viola! access to the 3 micro switches.

i found 1 switch (primary switch) that was defective. now to find a replacement.

nice of GE to include a schematic diagram tucked oway neatly inside the controller board.
