Our dryer was making a screeching sound but was still producing heat and drying clothes. As soon as that load was finished, we tried to start and it was dead. I took it apart and inspected the belt and it looks fine. I had replaced the rollers a couple of years ago and they appeared fine. Any ideas what would have caused this sound and then caused not to start. Appreciate any help with this matter. I can't seem to find any internal drawings of this model.

It is very difficult for us to diagnose a sound when we are not there to hear it.

It could be the motor or pulley, so you will have to take it apart again and troubleshoot things.

Here is a service manual that may help.
