I have a Whirlpool front load washer, model LHW0050PQ4, the machine is making a loud noise, disassembled the water drain pump and found the impeller off the
shaft. Put it back on, reassembled, tried it again, more noise, impeller off the shaft, again. My question: Do I replace the pump assembly or is there a 'better
way' to repair. Please advise and thanks, Jim

You're on the right track, replace the pump assembly.

I've already ordered the pump, was just wondering how the impeller attaches to the pump shaft. I'm not sure I have the whole picture because of my problem with the existing unit.
