ice maker is making ice ok but water is dripping from the bottom of the icemaker. when I put the arm up it stops making ice but water still drips until it freezes like a small icicle --- is it the ice maker or a water valve problem -- any ideas?

My guess would be a seeping water valve. part #AP3865363
You may want to disconnect the water hose from the back of the machine (with the icemaker off) and put the end of the tube in a bucket/pan and see if you get water in the bucket. If you do it's the valve.
Hope this helps

Just to add my $0.02... It could also be leaking from the ice maker. Water drips into the ice maker and overflows, or it drips out of the ice maker (between the ice maker head and body)?

If it's second scenario then the ice maker is bad and has to be replaced.

- The part number for the ice maker is AP2984633

Gene.
