The timer knob broke on our washer and I noticed that the whole assembly seam to move quite a bit more than normal. I took it apart as I knew I would have to replace the knob and figured I would take the panel apart to clean the water ine screens. Anyway when I took the panel off I notice the reason the timer was loose. All 3 tabs that hold it in place where broken.
I do not want to purchase a new time as this one still works. Any ideas on how I can hold it in place now that the tabs are gone?

I have fixed 25-30 washer timers that had the same problem without replacing the timer. Sometimes I simply put a large washer on the screw to catch what is left of the tab. Sometimes the tab is completely gone so I cannot use the washer. This is where you will have to use your imagination I have used spring clips, metal wire or metal brackets. The job doesn’t look professional but the customer is happy they didn’t have to buy a new timer. Good luck! Clothes Washer Repair Guide
