Hi! I'm new here and have 2 problems. I already posted under dryer about my first problem,

The second problem is my sister's washing machine. It worked fine this morning. I rinsed the load she left in there and threw them in the dryer. Then washed my son's comforter. So far, so good. I threw that in the dryer and dried it. Meanwhile, I also threw a white in the washer. I shut the lid and walked away while it was filling.

I came back 30 minutes later and it hadn't done anything except fill. The timer was still sitting right where I left it. So I pushed and pulled to make sure I hadn't shut it off without realizing it. Nope it was pulled out like it should be.

So then I opened the breaker box and checked all the circuits. None had popped off. So I looked for a GFI where it was plugged in. Nothing there.

The only response I can get is to fill with water. It won't agitate, spin, drain, etc. Just sits there full of dirty water. It doesn't matter what cycle - regular or perm press - it just sits there. No funny noises either. In fact, no noises at all.

What are the chances the timer died from one loan to the next?

That thought flashed through my mind while I was bailing water out but I didn't stop and check it. I will tell my sister to check it. It is a simple check. all she has to do is open the lid set the timer and poke something in there to press that switch down. If something happens, the switch is bad. If not...something else is bad. Sure would be nice if it was something simple like that. One can only lhope.
