well defrosting a bar fridge freezer...husband poked and gas leaked...will the fridge part still be able to be used to cool his beer or is it wreaked completley...do not know the make ...it is a labatt's blue round can bar fridge...thanks dot

It's wrecked. The fridge part will not get cold. The only way to fix it would be to put a new evaperator in it, but that would cost way more than that thing is worth. Next time use a hair dryer. Sorry that happened.

the bar fridge is now completely defrosted and there is a small hole in the freezer section but not all gas escaped and hubby thinks if he seals hole it will work...is it possible to seal the hole and with what ????before plugging back in it is worth a try...thanks dot

If you can seal the hole, than more power to ya. They do make a repair kit for those, it consists of a crayon looking thing. You will have no refrigerant "gas" left, it has all leaked out. If you want to try the kit you can. But you will need to be epa certified to buy the refrigerant, you need a vacuum pump, gauges or a refrigerant scale, line taps, and a new filter dryer, not to mention the compressor may be contaminated now and may need replacing also. Basically for the average homeowner, this is not possible for you to do. But trust me on this one, there is no refrigerant "gas"left in the system which means it will not cool even alittle bit.
