I have taken apart the pump and thought the blue check ball was some trash. I see it is on the diagram below the cover drain. Where exactly is the location for it's placement and into what part?

check ball Part Number: AP4113233

The check ball is located as you stated "Below the drain cover". You will find a "divot" in the pump body with a small hole, where the ball will sit and restrict a possible backflush of dirty drain water into the pump.

Below the drain cover there are 2 parallel oblong channels, possibly the "divot" , the right one leads to a hole in the drain cover. There is no hole in the pump body anywhere in either of these channels/divots. the one on the left side leads to the wash impeller so it can not go there. There is a larger hole in the drain cover that allows the filter cover tube projection to be in the one toward the right side"divot".
Does this ball move/travel on top of the pump's divot/channel? That seems odd.
Or does it go into the filter support cover[Part Number: AP4113232] that has a tube that the ball does fit into, where it would float up or down within the tube between the suction plate[Part Number: AP4114199] and the filter support? This would allow one way water flow, out of the discharge housing, but not into via the tube. That seems more likely to me. The diagram might be misleading.

You are on the money,

It does go into the filter support cover[Part Number: AP4113232] that has a tube that the ball does fit into, where it would float up or down within the tube between the suction plate[Part Number: AP4114199] and the filter support?
