F-6 on screen, loud humming, unresponsive. Had to unplug to turn off. After a few minutes I plugged it back in and got the same response. I have had this microwave for 7 years, it's in mint condition the only problems I have had are with the vent above the door constantly cracking and once the door itself cracked at the handel and hinge. What does F-6 mean? The manual says "call a technician". Can you be more specific as to what the problem is?

F6 is going to be either the control board or keypad. Unplug the unit, open the door and slap the side of the microwave where the controls are, maybe this will get it to work while you decide if it's worth the money to fix it.
