Freezer ices up wont defrost heater element has resistance within limits electronic defrost circuit clicks twice, wiring sheet says to check bi-metal but don't know how to tell if its open or closed:confused:

You have to cut it out and check for continuity. It has to be done while the body of it is cold.

If the circuit is open then replace it.

If the circuit is closed then splice it back using a wire nuts and replace the adaptive defrost control.

- The part number for the defrost bi-metal is AP4299920

- The part number for the adaptive defrost control is AP3109394
