Lately our washer fills rinse water very slowly. If I fiddle with the temperature selection switch, placing it half way between the warm and cold temp positions, the fill will come back to full flow again. Sometimes it will begin dribbling again in a few minutes. None of the other positions produce anything but a dribble. Is it the switch, the mixing valve or something else?

Most likely the problem is a bad water inlet valve but there is a small chance that the water temperature control board is bad too. - The part number for the water inlet valve is AP3175369 Gene.

The part number for the water temperature control board is AP3175691 and you can buy from APP for $70.36 but I would recommend to replace the water inlet valve first. Gene.

Well, I thought this problem went away after taking everything apart, finding nothing wrong and putting it all back together, but it has recurred. The cold water is again trickling in very slowly in either the normal Cold/Cold temperature switch position or the Cold/Cold position under "accu-wash sensor" range of the switch. The weird thing is that initially it would not work in the normal cold/cold setting but would work in the accu-wash cold/cold setting. After a less than a minute though, the accu-wash cold setting drops to a trickle too. Is it still most likely the water valve?

Update.
I bought a new water mixer valve and installed it. I noticed a little grit in the screen of the cold water inlet of the old valve that I could not see until I had removed it. Seemed like a good idea to flush out both of the supply lines before reconnecting to the new valve after seeing that. Curiously, I got very little flow from the cold supply hose. I disconnected the other end at the wall and discovered a phillips type screw head blocking the hose! it was the perfect size to mostly obstruct flow if it flipped into just the right position. Darn, probably didn't need a new valve after all. I guess I missed this the first time it took everything apart because the screw head was probably flipped sideways, or was still up inside the tap valve. I think this must be the remnants of the screw that holds the shut off seal washer in place.
Pretty weird problem to have! I think I'm going to replace the wall taps next.

The washing machine is working perfectly again. Guess I've got myself an extra mixing valve!
