Noticed when getting something out of freezer that the divider between the freezer and fridge side is hot to the touch. Does anyone know why this would be this way?

It should be warm because the condenser coils run there to heat the door liner so that it will not sweat so bad. If it is hotter than usual it could indicate that the refrigerator is running high head pressure. A dirty condenser or a bad condenser fan could cause this. If the fan isn’t running replace it and if the condenser is dirty clean it. If both check out ok I wouldn’t worry about it unless the refrigerator stops cooling.
