Hello,

My Frigidaire Gallery front load washer won't drain after washing a load of clothes, and it will not complete a spin cycle either. When it gets to the point in the cycle where it should drain it makes a buzzing or humming noise (doesn't really sound any different that usual) for a few moments, then starts to spin slowly. After spinning a few revolutions it stops and buzzes again, then spins again, same as before. After doing this a few times, it just sounds the buzzer and stops. Any ideas?

Justin,

Sounds like the problem is a bad door lock/switch assembly. Remove the bottom access panel and look for an envelope with the tech sheet. Perform the troubleshooting as instructed in the tech sheet.

Thanks for the response, I'll check that when I get home from work tonight. Just out of curiosity, why would a bad door lock cause the washer to not drain properly? I was thinking it would probably be something related to the pump....

This a safety device and the washer would not drain and/or spin fast if the control does not sense the door locked.

I was able to fix the washer - I found one of my wife's hairclips jammed in the pump. Once I pulled that out the pump ran fine and the washer went into a fast spin with no problems.

I'm having the same problem.
How do you remove the bottom access panel?
How do you get to the pump?

My Gallery unit is the same, except that the controls are at the top back of the unit instead of the front. The pump and access panel are installed the same as this model. I can verify the model number after work, if necessary.

Thanks!

The access panel on my unit is held in with two screws near the top corner of each side of the panel. The pump is in the right front once you take the access panel off.

You will likely have much better luck getting help with your washer if you create your own thread about it though, especially if you have a different model washer.

Thanks Justin!
Our problems were so similar that this will probably do it. I'll try another thread if it goes farther than this.

Really appreciate your reply!
