Purchased A New Control Panel Insert. The New Panel Has A Ribbon Cable Attached. I Removed The Old Insert (peeled It Off) But It Did Not Have A Ribbon Cable Attached. Is The New Ribbon Cable Required? Is There More To Peel Off?

Looks like you pilled off just the overlay, not the whole insert which is actually a membrane switch. It must be connected to the control board by a ribbon cable in order to input any command from the key pad to the control board.

You have to remove the inner door panel first in order to access the control board and disconnect and/or connect the ribbon cable.
