my coldspot air conditioner is probably older thasn 20 years but still works good. but the last two days it is starting to squeak which is very annoying. i don't know how to take it out and open it up to see if i can see what may need oiled. what can it be?

I usually find that noisy 'squeak' to be a fan motor's bearings going out... And it's possible that 20+ year old system may have a motor that can be oiled.. Locate the motor and look to see if there are small plugs on each end that can be removed for dropping in oil... They could be plastic or metal... Appliance Parts stores sell bottles of oil that come with a telescopic spout that is ideal for this application... APPros will have them but I suppose that it would have to ship UPS since mailing oil is restricted... Otherwise it's time for a new motor which APPros can handle that as well with a simple phone call.. cheers, kooler
