We live in Baja California in a rural area where there is no neutral line for the 3-phase 14,000v AC supply - the "neutral" is simply earthed. This works most of the time, but occasionally you get a surge.

I am now replacing my Whirlpool oven control computer) for the third time at $124 per shot. The other appliances so far have not been affected.

Any suggestions on a surge protector for the range? THe plug appears rather strange - it is angled rather than the usual wall plug.

You will need a electrician to monitor the power line with a chart recorder. If the voltage goes way above 230 volts for too long, any surge protector would just blow out.
If ok, he can install a surge protector in the breaker box.
