Replaced the control board several months ago for unrelated(?) reason. A week or so back the dryer gave no sign of life except a clicking in a control board relay. I replaced the board last night, tossed in a load and started it, came out fifteen minutes later to find the dryer stopped and unstartable, with only the clicking relay response when I try the start.

My thought is that another component is bad and causing the board to fail, but what might it be and how to test it?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Boards fail because of
1. Moisture
2. Heat
3. Power surges, or shorts in the wiring
4. Defective boards

About the only thing you can do is check all of the wiring to make certain you are not getting a short somewhere that causes a surge to the board

Good luck.
