Hello all !

I've got a problem with a MRT13CRBZ3 fridge from White Westinghouse and I'm just becoming crazy. I'm renting the flat with the fridge so I can't just change it.

My problem : the compressor is running really too often. I'm so obssessed that I measured the time : it goes on every 15 minutes during 12 minutes. Basically it would be 24 minutes an hour and it's so noisy, I could barely sleep.

The weird thing is : when I turn off the temperature selector then turn it back to the current temperature level (in my case 4), the compressor would stop for a time.

I'll be so grateful to have some help !

Thank you.

Measure the freezer temperature and post, it just might be spoiling your food.

Ok, I'll buy a thermometer and test the temperature.

If it's the compressor making bearing noises, it's probably geting ready to fail.
You can allways add some sound absorbing insulation to the back panel near the compressor; just don't block the airflow.

Yeah I think its bearing noise and vibrations but so loud !
There is no airflow near the compressor and by the way it's so hot I cant touch it...

You have no condensing fan on this, compressor gets cooling from freon flow, so... you either have an ineficient compressor, or refrigerant leak.

Ok thank you for your support.
I couldnt get a thermometer today, I will test it tomorrow if I find one.

Another thing, the tank on the compressor is always empty.

If the drip tray on top of the compressor is empty, you have a defrost problem, evaporator coils frozen.

Yeah it's empty, no liquid in it, so the compressor isnt getting cold :(

Edit : It's 3 in the morning and I can't sleep and I'm so obsessed with that fridge that I opened the back of the freezer (on the top) to check the evaporator coils : no frost on them, they are not frozen at all.

Maybe they are not cold enough to get frozen ? So compressor ? Thermostat ?

Your compressor is probably shutting down on it's thermal overload.
