We have had our whirlpool gold quiet partner iii for over a year now and most everything seems fine. Lately however, my wife has noticed a small amount of standing in the bottom of the unit after it is done with its cyle. I have read some places that a small amount of water in the bottom is normal. Is this true?

My wife did mention we had a broken glass in there a month or so ago so I'm thinking maybe something is blocking the draining system in the bottom? Is there a simple way to clean the filter and check the draining sysytem for any blockage?
