Just recently installed an new electric control board (Part Details - WHIRLPOOL Cntrl-elec, part number: AP3775978) and the dryer is stuck on Heavy duty. The dryer functions correctly on heavy duty. When you try to move the knob to another setting, the blinking light stays on heavy duty. When you run the diagnostic test, all the LED lights light up around the knob, but when you turn the knob around to each setting there is no beep to acknowledge the change in setting. Is the recently purchased board defective or is there something that needs to be done in order to make the settings change?

Please help.

The original problem was dianosed as a bad panel (per the repair man). Originally none of the LED lights in the front would come on, nor would the dryer work. Once I inserted the new board (panel) the dryer turned on and all the LED lights worked. The problem now is that the dryer will not move from the Heavy duty setting. The dianostic test shows that all the lights work and all other items beep when initiated but when you turn the knob, there is no beeping. Dryer works and heats but only in Heavy Duty.

Make sure all connectors are insert all the way in.

If there is nothing wrong, then the part you replaced is very likely to be the culprit. If you purchased it from Appliance Parts Pros, then just call them for the part warranty exchange.
