The answer is probably buy a new range, but it seems like its such a little thing (each time...)
Today, the problem I am having is as follows:
Turned on a burner and there was a noise and a lot of smoke. Burners appear to still work fine, but clock and oven were dead. I opened the top and saw that the circuit board was scorched (NOT a good sign). I replaced that and I am relatively certain I did it correctly. (I took a picture and also wrote down the order of the wires and connected it back the same way) The clock and everything else appears to work correctly now.
However there are two problems.
1) it sounds like a fan is running. It is not the convection fan as I can see that it is not moving
2) and the bigger problem is the temp doesnt ever shut off when the oven reaches the correct temperature. It turns off if you hit the cancel button. If I set the temp for 350, the display will appear normal, when it reaches 350, the oven will beep and the display will quit rising. BUT, the actual temp keeps climbing. It went up to 550 per my thermometer before I turned it off. This appears to be true for both convect and regular settings.
BTW, what is the differance between convect and not convect other than it is two differant ways to set the temp?

I have replaced the thermostat and still have the same problem. Can anyone please offer any suggestions?

Most likely the problem is a bad relay board (#14 on the break down diagram). One or more relays are stuck. - The part number for the relay board is AP373796 Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag range Model CHE9830BCEGene.

I posted this answer last night, but somehow the message board (or my husbands computer) ate it :(
In my original post the item I called circuit board is the item you recommended as needing replaced. Since I have replaced it once, do you think I should replace it again or is there something else I should check first. Last Friday, after reading numerous posts I decided to replace the thermostat (Maytag part #7403P307-60) to see if that would help. I noticed no change.
Originally, when it died, the clock/touchpad was blank (no LED's working). After I replaced the relay board, the clock and all other functions on the touchpad appeared to work. I have not replaced the clock/touchpad unit.
The problem continues to be the fan is on continuously (not the convection fan in the back of the oven - I can see the blades and they are not moving) and the temperature does not regulate. It continues to rise after it reaches temp and does not stop until I press the cancel (off) button.

Possible the relay board you installed is defective.
