I have a ge profile triton--it will go into wash cycle and rinse cycle but will not drain from either. This happened 2 years ago and repairman made me bring it to their shop and after 8 weeks said it was a cycle switch. Could that be what it is? What tests do I need to do to see first? I would just like to purchase whatever part and fix myself. However I want to do the proper testing first that you reccommend. thank you for your help--t stevens

Before we'll proceed with the dishwasher troubleshooting, I would like to know where is the dishwasher drain hose is connected to. If it is connected to the garbage disposal, then have you replaced the garbage disposal recently?
If there is an air gap installed on top of the sink?
Gene.

Hi Gene,
I have same problem with a GSD5200 GE dishwasher. After I replaced our disposal the dishwasher isn't draining anymore. I tapped out the blocker in the disposal that covers the dishwasher outlet when you first buy it and attached the hose from the dishwasher. Can a disposal replacement cause this issue (assuming it does based on your troubleshooting steps) beyond forgetting to remove the blocker?
